Assist. Prof. Dr Taner Can in TÜBİTAK Project Team

The research project, in which Dr Taner Can participated as a researcher, was awarded "TUBITAK 3501 - Career Development Program" fund. Within the scope of the project, it was attempted to develop equations that allow the writing performance in the second language to be calculated on lexical errors and lexical complexity and to test their usability in automatic composition scoring systems.

Project Team

On December 5, 2020, Şirin Tekeli Awards, organized by SU Gender (Sabancı University Gender and Women's Studies Center of Excellence), found their owners. Our department member, Dr. Gülçin Con Wright's research proposal, titled "Understanding the Experiences of Women as Grandmothers in Later Life in Turkey," was awarded the Research Incentive Award by the jury members.

REFUGEES AND SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE IN TURKEY WORKSHOP HELD IN TEDU

TED University, in cooperation with Earth Our Home International Solidarity Association and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, organized a workshop on the issues of international migration and living together experience. The name of the workshop was "Refugees and Social Acceptance in Turkey", and it was held at TED University on 23-24 February 2019.

In "3rd Ethical-Ecological Encounters Conference" held in Boğaziçi University on 7-8 May 2019, Yusuf Eradam represented our University via his speech titled "Ecological Ecesis via Creativity with Haiku Consciousness". After his speech, Eradam will attend the 17th International Cultural Studies Symposium held in Ege University on 8-10 May 2019.

Prof. Dr Yusuf Eradam will be the guest speaker in the talk titled "Hayatım Şiir Çevirmekle Nihayet Ömür," held by Atılım University Department of Translation and Interpretation on 28 March 2019, Thursday at 10.30.

Çankaya University is celebrating the World Poetry Day with Yusuf Eradam, our Department Chair and poet. Eradam will give his speech titled “Ömrüm: Şiir Oku, Şiir Yaz, Şiir Çevir, Şiire Dön” on 21th March, 2019, Thursday, at 11.20, in Central Campus Conference Hall (Red Hall).

Prof. Yusuf Eradam, Chair of English Language and Literature Department, gave a talk titled "Eco-Ecesis via Creativity with Haiku-Consciousness" in Toronto at the invitation of Ankara Library. Turkuaz TV had an interview with Mr. Eradam, whose talk was attended by audience from several locations of Canada.

WHERE WAS MAN MISTAKEN WHILE TRYING TO BE THE MASTER OF NATURE?

TED University hosted one of the most important authors of Turkey to discuss the life source of earth (NATURE), the first question in human’s mind (WHY?) and a very important concept (SINCERITY.)

The acclaimed Indian artist Shilpa Gupta, whose works have been exhibited at the most famous art centers like the Guggenheim and Tate Modern, and many international events and biennales around the world, has decided to use Prof. Dr. Yusuf Eradam's translations of two poems on Che Guevara by the late Turkish poets Arif Damar and Metin Demirtaş in her installation dedicated to 100 poets who have been jailed.
