“Ecological-Ecesis,” a term I invented, means the establishment of one entity, especially a plant or animal to a new habitat. I use the term to mean establishing human beings too in the newly discovered nature, our home, within all the rest back again in equal terms for survival in order not to produce more precariat. “Haiku-consciousness,” a pre-requisite to ecological ecesis, is another term I invented out of my passion for reading and writing haikus, and it means believing in economy (less is more) in literature and arts with eco-consciousness, and also in the sine qua non value of nature, environment, arts and literature in our everyday life. With the help of visuals, this presentation will simulate the last wrap-up meeting, before the final exams, of an ecology-conscious literature class to underline the significance of literature in English, a course designed to raise awareness in readers how creative people express their consciousness of and relationship with the environment.
